The first of many respected
labels in
the Glen Oak family of brands, Acorn Oak® is best known
for the hardwood S4S boards the company was founded to create
and market. A testament to Glen
Oak‘s remarkable history and pride in manufacturing,
each red oak S4S board produced
is still end-stamped with the Acorn Oak® brand.
Today, S4S is just one of several product lines
with an Acorn Oak® label.
The expansion of Acorn Oak® offerings began early on, with
a commitment to full grade utilization. When, in the early 1980s,
converting random width lumber to S4S boards in marketable sizes
generated a lot of excess rippings, Glen Oak started putting
these high quality rippings to good use in the production of
solid red oak mouldings.
Door jambs, and edge-glued
panels were added to the brand
in the 1990s.
Acorn Oak® mouldings, boards and jambs are also available
prefinished, to coordinate with
doors and other millwork.
